Khadijat Busola Amolegbe

Khadijat Busola Amolegbe is a Reader (Associate Professor) in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where she currently serves as Head of Department. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture and development economics, with a focus on food security, poverty reduction, women’s empowerment, climate change, and rural digitalization.

She was a visiting researcher/fellow at Cornell University, the University of Oxford’s Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE), the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI). Beyond academia, Khadijat has consulted for leading organizations including the World Bank, Mathematica, and the University of Georgia.

Her contributions have been recognized through numerous awards and competitive grants, notably under the USAID Feed the Future initiative. In addition to her scholarly work, she has taken on significant administrative and leadership roles within the University of Ilorin.

Khadijat earned her PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
