Gilles Quentin KANE is a Cameroon-based economist working at the intersection of applied research and policy implementation. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Yaoundé II, completed under the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Collaborative PhD Programme (CPP), and an MSc (2010) in Rural Economics and Environment. His primary research interest is digital transformation for development, with a focus on digital inclusion, digital agriculture, and data-driven decision-making to improve service delivery, productivity, and resilience. He combines university teaching with advisory work and consulting assignments for institutions including the World Bank, WFP, IFPRI, SNV, and partners working on sustainable value chains. He has received competitive awards and grants, including the EIB–GDN Fellowship in Applied Development Finance (2018–2019), PEP PMMA grant (PMMA-12880, 2015–2017), and AERC doctoral grant (2012–2017). His research also covers agricultural markets and price analysis, food and nutrition security, value chains, efficiency/productivity, impact evaluation, and gender and poverty/welfare analysis.
