Levison Chiwaula

Professor Levison S. Chiwaula holds a PhD in Economics from the Leibniz University of Hannover in Germany, an MA in Economics and BSc in Agricultural Economics both from the University of Malawi. His areas of research interest include poverty and vulnerability analysis, impact evaluation, economic evaluations of health care interventions, and value chain analyses of agricultural products. He has completed a PEP project titled “Can Mobile Money Induce Financial and Entrepreneurial Behaviors of Members of Village Savings and Loan Associations in Rural Malawi?”   He is currently the Acting Dean of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Malawi. He has previously served as Dean and Deputy Dean of Faculty of Social Science; and Head and Deputy Head of Department of Economics at the University of Malawi. His research work has been published in many reputable journals such as World Development Perspectives, Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Agricultural and Food Economics, Research in Labour Economics, and Health Economics Review.
