Amarendra Sahoo is currently working as an International Visiting Scientist and research fellow at PEP-Nairobi, where he is engaged in studies related to food and water securities. He has a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Tilburg University, The Netherlands. His dissertation is related to impact of competitive pressure on productivity-efficiency of the economy and household welfare distributions. Prior to his current assignment, Amarendra Sahoo has served as a researcher in Leiden University (The Netherlands), research fellow in University College Dublin, external consultant at ECORYS (The Netherlands), economist at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (New Delhi), consultant in The Indian Planning Commission (New Delhi) and researcher at Indian Statistical Institute (New Delhi). His major fields of interest broadly include: applied macroeconomics, development economics, computable general equilibrium modeling and input-output analysis.
