Aaron is an international development enthusiast with experiences spanning both public and non-governmental organizations. He is passionate about youth empowerment and has worked across initiatives promoting youth participation in governance and decision making, youth unemployment and economic opportunities, gender equality and social accountability. He has led a number of initiatives in the past to advocate for increased investments in youth development and improvement in employment conditions of head potters and other youth which create economic vulnerabilities that are exploited for abuse.
He previously worked as an Emerging Public Leaders Fellow at the Policy Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Ministry of Finance. Also, under the International Development Department of the London School of Economics, he consulted for the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London, conducting a study on “Enhancing Accountability in Public Service Delivery,” with a focus on legislative oversight and social accountability in developing countries – drawing on experiences from Ghana, Kenya and Uganda.
Currently, Aaron works as a Project Manager with STAR Ghana Foundation on the FCDO funded Conflict, Security, and Stability Fund (CSSF) project where amongst others, he engages with stakeholders to address the core drivers of insecurity such as youth unemployment and inadequate economic opportunities.
He holds a BA in Geography & Rural Development with Political Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and an MSC Development Management (Applied Development Economics specialism) with distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
