By training, I am public health expert with my master's degree in public health and Ph.D. in tropical and infectious diseases and served as Head of the Department and chief research and academic director at JU Institute of Health. Both, as lead and Co-PI, he won over 15 research grants and conducted over 10 consultancy services funded by sub-national, national and international (TDR/WHO, Geneva, USAID – Ethiopia, UNICEF – Ethiopia, FMOH, Jimma University) organizations. I involved in one RCT (funded by TDR) where we published 4 publications were made. In addition, I was involved in several implementation research with non-RCT designs (pre-posttest designs, trial of improved behavioral practices). He has published more than 86 peer-reviewed research papers on a wide range of public health issues, health systems, and implementation sciences (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Zewdie-Birhanu). He has good knowledge of statistical software, systematic reviews and has expertise in qualitative methods and software (Atlas ti). I have also extensive experience in working with community groups, including pastoral communities, internally displaced people, and pandemic responses such as COVID-19.
