Applied development researcher and policy economist with 8+ years of experience generating
evidence that shapes national policy, gender equity programming, and trade strategy across Malawi
and Sub-Saharan Africa. Holds an MA in Economic and Public Policy (University of Tsukuba, Japan,
2025) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Gender Studies (University of Iceland & UN
University, 2021). Published researcher with outputs through UN Women Malawi. Currently leading
trade policy research and competitiveness diagnostics as Principal Economist at the Ministry of Trade,
Malawi, and serves as Policy Lead on a Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) climate-gender
research project. Expert in mixed-methods research design, quantitative analysis (STATA), and
translating complex findings into policy-relevant outputs. Strong experience working with
international organisations including UN Women, UNICEF, CIMMYT, Concern Worldwide, and the
African Development Bank
