Joy Omar Karim

I am  a young lady aged 30 and working as an Economist under the Monitoring and Evaluation Department with the MInistry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development. I hold an MA in policy Economics which I obtained in 2016 at the Center of Development Economics, Williams College, USA. 

I have a passion in  development related issues especially interventions and policies that targets Vulnerable groups such as Women and the Youth. In my free time I work with consulting agencies on part time basis. In my capacity as an economist and personally I am a champion of SDGs specifically ensuring that progress on the implementation of the Goals is monitored and the results obtained used for evidence based policy formulation. I am also Desk officer of a number of Ministries including Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of GenderMy work involves monitoring, Evaluating and producing annual progress reports on the countrys national Strategy, the Agenda 2030 and  Projects being implemented by government.
