Dieter von Fintel as an Associate Professor of Economics at Stellenbosch University, where he works within the Research on Socioeconomic Policy (ReSEP) and Laboratory for the Economics of Africa's Past (LEAP) groups. He is also a research affiliate of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and the Global Labor Organisation (GLO). He uses micro and geospatial data to understand development processes in sub-Saharan African countries, including the study of labour markets, agriculture, food security and health.
