Brivine Munkombwe Sikapande has 14 years of professional experience in working with health information systems in Zambia. Specifically, she has been involved in strategic planning, training, curriculum development, project management and appraisals as well as information systems. In information systems, I have been key in the design, management and implementation of a results-oriented monitoring and evaluation system in Zambia. I have worked specifically in the areas of providing technical oversight in the development and implementation of the DHIS2 system which is used to provide health information for planning and decision making. I have equally been key in facilitating the Community and Hospital HMIS systems in the country. Among other duties I have provided guidance towards the development of frameworks that guide the programming and implementation of Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. My responsibilities include providing strategic technical oversight of the Monitoring and Evaluation strategic plans and frameworks, design of monitoring and evaluation tools, planning and conducting data quality assessments, planning and implementation of national wide as well as programme related surveys, system and programme reviews as well as contributing to strategic discussions on the health information system in Zambia. I am skilled at staff development, training, and also oversee teams at provincial, district and health facility levels in the data collection, analysis processes and use of the information to inform local decisions. In addition, I have strong skills in conducting research as I have worked with various stakeholders both (Government and Donor) on conducting various research. Further, I have skills in most major data collection and analysis software including CSPro, SPSS, Excel, STATA, and EPI Infor. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing and Information Systems as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
