Dr. Anta NGOM (Senegal)
Anta NGOM is a Ph.D holder in the new NPTCI inter-university postgraduate program in Applied Economics, labor economics and industrial economics option at Cheikh Anta DIOP University of Dakar (UCAD) in Senegal. Dr Anta NGOM is a dynamic person committed to work, passionate about research and she is also very social as well.
Dr Ngom is a researcher and permanent member of the Laboratory for Research on Institutions and Growth (LINC), she is also a temporary teacher at the Faculty of Economics and Management (FASEG) of UCAD, at the virtual university of Senegal (UVS). At the same time, she is a consultant to Education International (ie) which is a global trade union organization in the field of education and she is currently a researcher.
associated with the African Economic Research Consortium (CREA/AERC) based in Nairobi, Kenya.
His areas of research are, among others, the labor market, trade unionism, the informal sector, international trade. Dr. Anta has studied issues of trade unionism in Senegalese companies, gender in the field of employment, women's entrepreneurship.
Between 2020-2021, Dr Anta NGOM led as coordinator of the project on the impact of Senegal's 2019-2023 investment strategy on growth, youth and women's employment: Analysis using of a dynamic CGE model within the framework of projects relating to employment in Africa initiated by the 'Partnership of Economic Policy' (PEP). She was a Fellow of the Young African Professionals Program "ECA Fellowships for Young African Professionals", Economic Commission of Nations
for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She was also an intern at the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP/UN) on Economic Modeling Applied to Trade Policy Reforms in Africa.
Currently, she leads as co-leader a project entitled “Addressing context-specific barriers to female labor force participation in decent work in Senegal” with her colleague from the University of Gaston Berger (UGB/Senegal) Dr Malick Diallo within the framework of the PEP project Co-impact Project for a period of 23 months and she is is a researcher to the Regional Consortium for Research in Generational Economics (CREG) in the department Knowledge and Policy Unit (KPU)-CREG as an expert in gender economics.
