Alma Espino is Economist. She had been researcher at the Institute of Economics, Faculty of Economics Sciences and Administration, University of the Republic, Uruguay since 1985. She is the Department Coordinator on Development and Gender at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Development Studies, Uruguay (CIEDUR) since 1997 and her main research fields are labor market, trade, macroeconomics and gender. Since 2003 she has been Lecturer in the Regional Training Program on Gender and Public Policies (PRIGEPP-FLACSO) and from 2006 she belongs to the Latin-American Working Group on Gender, Macroeconomics and International Economics.
