Niken holds a master's degree in economics and public policy from Sciences Po Paris in France, and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Indonesia. Niken joined SMERU in 2012 and has been involved in various topic of research ranging from female-headed households, migration, poverty and inequality, as well as energy policy. Her technical skills include econometric analysis, longitudinal household survey, microsimulation, and small-area estimation. Prior to joining SMERU, Niken worked as a research assistant with Central Bank of Indonesia. She also worked as a teaching assistant in economics at the University of Indonesia. Niken was awarded the TOTAL Master Scholarship from TOTAL E&P Indonesia, 2010-2012 for her postgraduate study.
