Pouirkèta Rita Nikiema is a development economist from Burkina Faso. She is an Assistant Professor at Université Norbert Zongo, Burkina Faso. She holds a Ph.D in Applied Economics from the Université Cheick Anta Diop in Senegal, a MSc in Human Resource Economics from the Université Thomas Sankara (former Université Ouaga II) in Burkina Faso. Ms. Nikiema has worked as a Research Fellow at UNECA and a short-term consultant at the World Bank, Africa Region Chief Economist Office. She is a researcher with the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP), African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), and the Pan-African Research Center for Economic and Social Development (CARDES). Ms. Nikiema is a member of the Association for the Advancement of African Women Economists (AAAWE), and the African Growth and Development Policy Modeling Consortium (AGRODEP). Her fieldwork included education economics, health and nutrition, gender and development, youth employment, financial inclusion, and impact evaluation.
