Gorana Krstic

Gorana Krstić is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Belgrade. She teaches Economic Statistics (undergraduate), Statistical Methods in Market Research (LSE undergraduate), Policy Analysis and Impact Evaluation (Applied Economics, graduate) and Statistics - Economic Statistics (postgraduate course). She holds a master's degree in Statistics from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. She obtained a PhD in Economics from the School of Social Sciences at the University of Sussex in 2002. She has over 25 years of experience in scientific and applied research across various fields of economics and statistics, including labour markets, the economics of inequality, poverty, and social policy. She has extensive knowledge of quantitative research methodologies, particularly econometrics and analysis based on large-scale, complex household and firm surveys.

Her consultancy work covers broad range of topics, including assessment of employment and social data sources in Western Balkan region, estimates of welfare aggregates, analysis of poverty and social inclusion indicators, with particular focus on gender issues, questionnaire design and methodology for the Survey of enterprises on informal economy in Serbia and Montenegro, technical assistance to statistical offices in Serbia, Montenegro, Armenia and Georgia on the LSMS, SILC and ILCS.

She has been consulting for leading international agencies, including the EC, World Bank, European Training Foundation, UNDP, ILO, GIZ, USAID, and RCC. She has been a World Bank consultant for labour market, poverty and social policy for the regions of South Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia. She has won a few competitions for individual and institutional research for which she was the team leader (Vienna Institute for International Studies, UNDP, UN, USAID, National Bank of Serbia, Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia). She has been working on EU funded projects through FP7 and HORIZON platforms, as well as on the project supported by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit (SIPRU) of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, NALED and Foundation for the Advancement of Economics (FREN). She is an Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity at the International Inequalities Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science. She is an associate editor of Economic Annals.
