MICHAEL MURIGI

I am a results-driven professional in Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (RMEL), with over 10 years of experienceacross sectors such as agricultural value chains, youth empowerment, gender and women’s empowerment, climate action,education, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, health, labor markets, poverty, and social protection. My work has spannedAnglophone and Francophone Africa, South Asia, and Latin America, delivering measurable outcomes in initiatives funded byglobal organizations like the World Bank, IDRC, Mastercard Foundation, Hewlett Foundation, GAC, and UNDP.


I hold a Ph.D. in Economics specializing in Development Economics, complemented by certifications in monitoring and evaluation, impact evaluation, gendered research, climate finance, and environmental impact assessment. My expertise lies in designing and managing M&E frameworks that enhance program accountability, foster learning, and deliver sustainable results.


Among my achievements, I was honored with the Queen’s Young Leaders Award by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for my climate-smart farming initiative. This project has not only promoted sustainable agriculture and clean energy solutions but also empowered women and youth in climate-vulnerable communities, reflecting my commitment to inclusive development.


With a collaborative and solution-oriented approach, I excel in building local capacities, engaging stakeholders, and working in multicultural teams. My proven leadership, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive in dynamic environments make me an asset in advancing impactful, results-focused initiatives.
