CGD-South Africa Support for Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Reform: How can MDBs better support green energy transition and financing in the Global South?”

Abstract

This research project seeks to generate innovative, contextualized and policy-relevant insights on how Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) can better support green energy transitions and the financing thereof in South Africa. Moreover, the project seeks to produce actionable research-based recommendations on how to achieve this as it relates to relevant MDB units, government agencies, and other stakeholders through a continuous engagement and consultation process. Note: A sister project for Pakistan is also being conducted simultaneously and will be submitted alongside the South Africa project to the Center for Global Development.
