The overall objective of the Recipient in relation to the Project is to to generate new evidence on how Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in Kenya can be harnessed for improving labour market outcomes of young women transitioning from school to work, in the COVID-19 recovery. The specific objectives of the Project are as follows: 1.1. To assess the effectiveness of gender-sensitive skills training and employer incentives, and the combination thereof, in boosting young women’s entry into the COVID-19 affected labour market and reducing gender-based employment segregation. This will be done in the context of a multifaceted TVET training program implemented by CAP-YEI in Kenya, one of the largest TVET institutions with vast experience in training marginalized youth; 1.2. To inform and influence TVET reforms in Kenya, by producing new evidence and insights on the kinds of interventions that work for different categories of women, which ones are costeffective, and which can be scaled; and 1.3. To inform scaling up efforts to expand effective skills trainings and modalities in Kenya and beyond
